I'm Coming Undefiled!!

It all started long ago on an interesting query titled 'Mathematics'. No need to read between the lines of subject just evidence there was a subject of matter. It began with Jessica12345 saying: "Love it or hate it?". And then on that dash of 30 October 2008 at 01:08 the post went on as Jessica12345 posted.....

For me, I hate it.

I'm sitting on my bed now attempting to finish my work. I have 5 questions to go...
the last 5 questions I will EVER have to do, besides my exam thats in 2 weeks time.
After that, no more maths! Woohoo!

But...
These last 5 questions...
completely stumped...
kinda frusterating!

Since I'm so close!

Do you enjoy maths?
Or did you in school?
Is it actually useful to you in everyday life?
(besides basic multiplication, counting money etc)

On November 10th, 2008 a date in history I wrote a reply under my alias set_zero,
but registered with my real name of course, on the webpage of James Blunt himself,
and my reply read in measure (spelling errors now corrected please see original below)

"was the most difficult hieroglyphic matter to the basic numerical factors of the actual distinguishable composition of the moon. Now just simply writing this has taken me more time than time had to offer. So, you should consider yourself lucky not to have to begin yourself with a father that records your age with the understanding of your first mathematical lesson which is actually Time.
I am not sure what verse even included a numerical version of the 1,2,3 in its basic lessons because if I remember correctly that was an ancient lesson learned at a place of underground contagions when I was bored. My note to myself on that day was do not ever say you are bored again. So, all I can say is keep up the good work and thank your lucky stars your Dad is not the sun and your mother is not the earth because if your father is the Sun, which by the way is no longer a star, but the Sun, you are just screwed.
Now, math is science and science is evolution and evolution is what is happening to explain mathematics in a quantum physics equation on this earth. Hence if the Sun was a star, which was a particle, which would conceivably could have been a dust particle, then just watch The Golden Compass, the movie, it would explain the rest so easily.
By the way, you understand when you choose to open up your mind and realize that ashes to ashes and dust to dust is something in a ceremony. However, it is also a mathematical equation if you understand that words are numbers in translation of time, just like the Emerald Tablets, so eloquently shown to me this morning by a fellow writer. Ancient texts, tablets, stones, etc. are translated into different languages so you may understand the meaning, its exactly the same with math if you can loosen your grip on your mind and relax to the fact it is just fine."

"The equation for a simple line."

Zero

Then in the year of 2013 James Blunt - The New Album, Moon Landing it was picture perfect,
it all seems to add as mathematics in signed as the video of introduction however what happened......

This provides the actual evidence for the record and is recorded for sake as the what, of what now because nobody said a thing
and it is now Twenty Sixteen.

Well I finished the questions... actually... I lied... I got all the questions wrong cos I pretty much made my own formulas to try solve them! lol

But... they're done... and thats all I care about... now I can't fail the whole unit...

I thought it was okay. I never had a love or hate for it.

Aww Jess, I hope you don't fail! Isn't there anybody that could help you to understand it better?

Good luck!

That pretty much sounds like you, Jess....

Look at the bright side, you could be studying Japanese still! Good luck on your maths....I know how much you hate it, but just forge through. You can do it.

i think its ok.. i had 6 hours of maths today, which is horrible, especially if you have physics and science for public understanding on the same day as well *is really tired now*

I hated Math- right from the beginning. First grade was a nightmare- and crotchety old teachers on the home stretch towards retirement should NOT teach mathematically illiterate first graders. There has to be a system to teach math to people who do not think 'logically' in the sequential sense that people who 'get" math do. Why aren't there remedial math programs for kids who struggle with numbers and formulas? Reading programs seem to be widely accepted in schools- why aren't there Math programs- parents volunteer their time to help elementary school students learn to read in schools my kids have been in. Surely there must be parents who have a 'gift' for math and explaining concepts to kids who need extra help. Call it the "Stand Up and Be Counted" program. Math matters to everyone- who doesn't want to understand the power of numbers and harness that by managing your own finances, calculating interst rates, playing the stock market and understnading all that mumbo jumbo in the finance section of your local newspaper, calculating how much materials and supplies you'll need to build a structure in your yard or build your own home without being at the mercy of trades people who are too busy and far between in a baby boom retirement crunch for skilled anybodies.

I didn't have enough fingers and toes when I was a kid learning about rudimentary math- I would have been so freakin' happy to have a electronic calculator back then... speaking of which, kids today use that contraption all together too much for them to truly grasp the operations of math and formulas if you ask me..

If I remember correctly, try reversing the formula you used to get your answeres to proofread them, and see if you end up with the same answer as the origional question.

Btw...I hated math..Could do it, but just HATED it!

There is a kind of numbers dyslexia, mental arithmetic and me don't add up. I have real trouble remembering numbers, my own phone number or pin number. Yet some people remember a phone number when told it, they don't even write it down. (not their own, someone elses phone number LOL)

I hated Maths at Primary school, but then had a really good patient Maths teacher at Secondary school and something clicked and I loved it. I took Physics and Maths at A-level and then did my degree in Maths alongside my teaching qualification.

Freddy, the condition you refer to is called Dyscalclia (not sure on the spelling lol). Its pretty common.

I remember talking to a boardie on chat about a formula she came up with for a sphere. The teacher was clueless, but she came up with the right answer anyway.
Come to think of it, I've done the same thing in math and other school subjects involving asthmatic uses...I even remember stating some sort of musing I came up with out of the blue since the teacher wanted to test that area of the class' mind, I'll share it here since it kinda relates to the subject. It won't be line for line, but this is what I remember of it:

As I cross the rickety bridge over the abyss, I wonder; jump, fly, or float.

The teacher must have thought I was thinking negatively and damn near freaked lol. I was merely just stating my confusion lol.

How can anyone hate math? You silly people! ;D

I absolutely love math, unless it is two in the morning and I have an assignment due in eight hours!

well.....you're a bit weird anyway, lil joey fan.

I actually enjoyed math when I was younger, too....I'd have taken 10 math classes in exchange for one science/history anyday!

I LOVE maths. It was probably my best subject at school and I still use it alot now.
When I was working I used to prepare daily, weekly and yearly accounts for the company I worked for. Now I'm not working I'm treasurer for a local group and enjoy the bookkeeping.
My daughter is 12 and comes home from school with homework in areas of maths I haven't worked for years and I really enjoy re-learning the things I've forgotten.

Well, I handed in all my maths stuff today... I hope she doesnt actually take a good look at it! lol

We also had a test, which I had completely forgotten about. Oh well, I don't think I failed it...

8 days of maths to go...

Oh dear, good luck with your final exams, Jessica!

I really hate maths... my marks aren't that bad but I hate it though. If I am good at a certain topic, I will have forgotten everything after the exam, which is no good for final exams.

Good luck Jess... if you're making up your own formulas your on your way to being a professor!! I loved maths but always got the wrong answers :-o.

Linear algebra was fun. PDF's and imaginary variables wasnt.

Cant bear Sudoku .. what a waste of B time!

Maths books never made any sense. There is nothing better than a really inspired and inspiring teacher.

Tree.

Haha Tree, I make my own formulas, yes... but theyre not right, theyre just something to put down so I dont fail for not doing a question! lol

I did my maths exam today. Somehow I dont think I went well, but then again, I dont think I failed.

Its all over... maths is all over... let the burning of maths book comence!

Whhoooooo Zero, you make maths sound sexy LOL. Yes everything can be dismantled into a mathematical formula, I'm not even going to half pretend I can count to 10, but I love someone who can make think I understand whatever they are talking about.

What ever you do don't mention Dark Matter to Zero......"Dark Matter" (that's chocolate to the girls here) was mentioned to Steven Fry on his visit to the US scientific whatsit last night, the place where all hope for a future lies (Los Alamos?) Dark Matter is what makes nuclear physics a bit like buttering a slice of bread (yawn), these guys heads won't fit through garage doors. Only joking of course, but these guys do, or try to do what is impossible for most humans, they think outside the box, they can shed all the restraints that shackle most of us, and think freely.

Mathematics requires this otherwise you will give up and say "It can't be answered, it can't be done, all rules must be forgotten, new ones created if needed, and if the formula works and mathematics says it can be done, then it can.

Free Thinking, something we think we do, but if you've read a book, watched TV, talked to someone, had an education. Then what you think is basically what you have been taught to think or say. Isn't the human mind wonderful, all this information enters our brains, and I sat here waiting for the kettle to boil and I hadn't switched it on. Do you think there's any hope for me? freddy

Blimey Freddy ... you almost understood zero! there is far more hope for you han there is me!
And Jess....... who says your formulas arent more correct than the ones in your text book?

and WHO CARES!!!!!

Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee .. you must feel wonderful today.

I just loved geometry and algebra ... perhaps I could have your books?

I have one very small unused Sudoku book you are welcome to in exchange???

lol- it does seem freddy has some inkling of what zero is alluding to.
It often is the 'crazy' people who see things that escape other people's attention, they develop an unusual formula, and solve problems in highly irregular ways. I never could figure out why people are penalised for using their own methods for figuring out mathematical puzzles.

I'm sorry Zero... I really have no idea what you mean... my brain is not that intelligent unfortunatly.

I wasnt allowed to burn my maths book >:-/ The reason being, mum wants to sell the damn thing at the second hand book sale to get some money for it, so I had to lug the 3 kilo thing into school and take it to the library.
Who ever gets it will open the pages just to find my numerous scribbles from when I could never be bothered doing the work. I'm pretty sure I wrote the world 'bored' in there about 20 times... lol

So sorry tree.. I would have happily given you the book if it wasnt for that. I'm sure you would love it more than the next person who has it! lol
