"The instinct for self-preservation is the driving force behind our self-annihilation."
The epitome of a double-edged sword.
K.Placek
Merely knowing is not understanding. We have been drowned with information, yet, I see no real understanding in our society or the World. I hear the words of other men, people from a different time in our history. These verses are spoken out of the mouths of people today, something is lacking when they speak. Yes, the words they speak are true and are full of powerful reflections. However, simply regurgitating another’s words is not knowing, nor is it understanding of what the verses actually meant. It is merely the repetition of another person's insight that you yourself were unable to actually assimilate. Therefore, we have become nothing but a trained parrot for the entire world to listen to as we squawk out directions for belief. This may be harsh, the bitter truth usually is and it never goes down as sweet.
This is not about stroking egos, this is merely about understanding what original thought is, and how it relates to belief. Realizing that the verses and the words within the already written books, were written through time to enrich our minds and souls in order for individuals to grow in their own imaginative thought. The mind is the most incredible playground with no bounds of its own. Opening your eyes to the wonder of your own mind would enable you to realize how incredible you really are, you are amazing.
